The Student Services Coordinator performs professional level supervisory and managerial duties in planning, directing, and reviewing the activities and operations within the Student Services Center, including Assessment and Testing. This position has responsibility for direct supervision of staff and student services functional areas.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees, which includes: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; training staff, recommends the hiring, disciplinary actions and termination of staff
  • Research and resolve more difficult and complex student complaints and issues
  • Provide direct service to students, as required, to implement the SSC
  • Assist in developing, planning, and implementing goals and objectives for assigned functional area(s) in Student Services; recommend and administer policies and procedures for service delivery; provide complex support to the Student Services Manager
  • Evaluate operations and processes of assigned area(s); recommend improvements and modifications; prepare related reports
  • Supervise the processing of technical paperwork in functional area(s); ensure compliance with applicable Federal and state laws and College rules and regulations
  • Monitor program and operations for assigned functional area to ensure consistency with Campus student services goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures
  • Collect and analyze a variety of information and statistics relating to assigned functional area and summarizing findings, prepare reports and make recommendations
  • Develop and conduct training seminars or workshops on functional or organizational topics
  • Assist in developing and monitoring operational budget and allocation of expenditures in an assigned functional area; prepare cost estimates and justifications for budget item recommendations
  • Ensure consistency of operations with College policies and practices
  • Collaborate with other Student Services Coordinators and the District Office to provide and improve services to students
  • Set area goals and objectives, and measure quality of services
  • Prepare for and participate in/on a variety of College and community committees, workshops, meetings, training sessions, task forces, and conferences
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in student services, including on year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Candidate who possess similar minimum objective qualifications are encouraged to apply and should describe in detail the work experience and education regarded as establishing the equivalency
