The incumbent serves as an Office Clerk, providing a variety of data entry and routine clerical tasks of the Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) Resource Management and Planning Services (RMPS) office at Moore Air Base in Mission, TX.
The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.

U.S. Citizenship DUTIES:
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Receives and enters new requests for work into the Bigfoot database, creates and assigns new work orders and tracks open work orders
Determines cost of each work order and creates requisitions for replacement parts
Builds weekly, monthly, and year-end reports
Adds photos and schematics to the system
Notifies stakeholders of parts on order and completed work orders by e-mail or phone
Serves as a receptionist as needed, receiving visitors to the site and directing them to the proper source to meet their needs, answering their questions and the telephone, and routing calls to the proper person
To qualify, you MUST meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants can qualify by meeting the EDUCATION requirements specified below and/or the GENERAL EXPERIENCE requirements.
GS-3: One year successfully completed beyond the high school level.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-3 GRADE LEVEL Applicants must have one year of experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the next lower level in the Federal Service. This experience may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors. Qualifying experience may include, but is not limited to:
Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-3 GRADE LEVEL: Applicants may have combinations of successfully completed education and general experience to meet total qualification requirements. DD214 (Member 4 copy) or other veterans' documents required to receive veterans' preference.

A Pathways Participant Agreement will be required if you are selected for a position. The agreement must be signed by all applicable parties prior to entrance on duty.

You will be considered for conversion to a permanent or term position upon the successful completion of your Internship. However, please note that eligibility for conversion does not guarantee the agency will opt for conversion.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Category rating procedures will be used to rank and select eligible candidates. The following quality categories will be used: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, and Qualified. Within each quality category, veterans' preference eligibles will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
Your final category placement will be based on your responses to the assessment questionnaire.

This position does not confer all of the benefits usually associated with the competitive service such as tenure and transfer and privileges. However, the selectee will be entitled to sick and annual leave accrual. Eligibility for retirement benefits, health insurance and life insurance is determined on a case by case basis.
