This Style Director is a multifaceted role and includes strong editorial thinking (able to extrapolate/create a trend/fashion story from styled looks and explain why the looks "work", some writing, excellent technical styling expertise (identifying body typing, superior knowledge of proportion, styling real women (clients and associates in our stores) and strong editing skills. An ideal candidate will be an outgoing extrovert with a passion for real women styling and teaching their area of expertise to associates in our stores
Articulate and write seasonal stylebooks explaining dressbarn’s styling and fashion POV
Create seasonal curriculum to educate and elevate in-store associates styling skill set
Travel to stores to teach styling workshops and style real women clients and associates
Style and shoot seasonal associate guide to dressing the part at work in our stores based on seasonal fashion messaging
Develop and edit seasonal educational tools in partnership with Marketing and Trend/Design teams
Develop seasonal boards for visual merchandising communicating seasonal styling aesthetic and key looks
Oversee in-store mannequin looks to maintain consistency with seasonal styling aesthetic
Serve as dressbarn’s style authority/Stylist (talent) at new store openings, events....styling clients and associates in store

Requirements:
Minimum 8-10 years styling experience in fashion retail, editorial and/or personal styling
Potential for domestic travel in stores
Excellent written and verbal communication styles
A proven leader
Ability to present to a large group and articulate styling message
Management experience
Knowledge of current fashion trends
Ability to develop relationships and partner with cross-functional teams
Open to feedback and flexible to daily changes
Ability to host events as dressbarn Stylist and style real women
Ability to lead style workshops to educate new associates in the field
Highly productive in fast-paced environment
Senior level experience styling real women, e-commerce and mannequins
On-set shoot experience as lead stylist
Critical thinking skills that allow candidate to translate a concept into reality and develop story thru visual looks
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Autonomous problem-solver with visual eye to create stories thru product
