DESCRIPTION

A fully competent and knowledgeable subsea structural engineer. Work requires judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures. Develops new techniques and solutions and suggests improvements. Independently performs most assignments. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems. Plans work and meets deadlines without supervisor action. Supervises and coordinates engineering activities on a project or supervises and coordinates the subsea structural engineering activities on a project or may coordinate and supervise the work of other less experienced engineers.Position Description: Performs in one or more of the following capacities: * Plans, manages and coordinates the engineering activities on a small to medium project or * Assists a more experienced lead engineer on a large and/or technically complex project.* Gives effective presentations to customers, suppliers and internally within the organization, when appropriate.* May serve as an individual contributor or may plan, assign, coordinate, and review work of others depending on the scope of a particular assignment.* Reviews work thoroughly, and receive technical guidance only on very unusual or complex problems. * Ensures that the work performed by assigned resources is on schedule and within budget.* Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors or Master's Degree with 7+ years or equivalent level of related engineering experience; Master's Degree and PE registration preferred.* Excellent written and oral skills.* Organizes, prioritizes, and plans work activities, while using time efficiently.* Proficient with structural analysis software packages (ex. SACS, ANSYS, ABAQUS)* Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; takes responsibility for subordinates' actions.* Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, while developing alternative solutions, if necessary.* Understands business implications of decisions.* Works with and communicates effectively with customers and vendors.* Works with administrative supervision and effectively manages multiple and conflicting priorities.* Understands both the technical and commercial aspects of the organization's projects and proposals. Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer other than your current employer.
