Performs intermediate semiskilled and human support work supervising recreation centers, school facilities, parks and ball fields during Parks and Recreation activities or programs; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Program Coordinator or Center Director.
Essential Job Functions*:
Position involves standing and walking both indoors and outdoors for extended periods; sedentary work tasks minimal. Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move equipment and supplies customary and reasonable in a recreation environment. Vocal communication is required for conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or make fine distinctions in sound. Visual acuity is required for depth perception, peripheral vision, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and noise. Worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and required to wear specialized protective equipment.
Supervises center, gymnasium, playing fields, parks, or other assigned recreation facility; Maintains all established safety measures, provide first aid, and accident reports; Issues and enforces rules and regulations and interprets guidelines; Issues and collects any equipment; Maintains equipment security; Collects, receipts, and secures revenue funds; Provides good customer service for walk-ins and telephone customers by answering questions, taking messages, and being of assistance whenever and wherever possible; Maintains good communication with Parks and Recreation or school staff to keep them informed about problems, concerns, etc.; Prepares facility for public use by conducting set-up and clean up for programs, rentals, and athletic events; Provides program and schedule information to general public; Opens, closes and secures building/facility and keys; Reports to work on assigned duty schedule; Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
Assist in promotion of programs, distribution of flyers, making telephone calls, etc.; Assist with rental of equipment; Conduct overall security and maintenance checks.

Thorough knowledge of assigned recreation facility operations; General knowledge of recreation programs, practices and procedures; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with coworkers, program participants and the general public; Ability to issue and enforce rules and regulations; Ability to keep records and make reports; Ability to provide first aid assistance.
Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in recreation facility operation.
Special License and Certificates:
Possession of or ability to acquire first aid certificate.
