The head resident is responsible for the overall supervision of students' residential and co-curricular life during the OP Summer Academic Institute. The Head Resident facilitates meetings, attends all faculty/staff meetings and special events, and supervises the residence hall and its staff. S/he will provide supervision, leadership and administrative guidance to the Assistant Head Resident and House Counselors. As part of a team, the Head Resident will work closely with the professional staff toward developing community, enforcing policies and offer support for programs. The individual also helps plan and attends all co-curricular events and provides guidance for all program students. This is a crucial position in our model summer program, and the administrative responsibilities involve working as a part of the Administrative Professional team in the Opportunity Program for the Summer Academic Institute.
Must be at least a rising senior, in good academic standing and have demonstrated experience in residential life and/or student leadership, managing diversity and conflict resolution; preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree and some administrative and/or teaching experience.
Earned BA, experience with work in supervisory, coaching or residential life positions.
