SUMMARY: The Country Club of Virginia is seeking part-time Summer Restaurant Staff at both of our clubhouses, Westhampton and James River. Open positions include Host/Hostess, Server Assistant, and Server. Details about each position are listed below.

HOST/HOSTESS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Greet and seat members in a timely manner
Take drink orders and deliver drinks
Maintain a par stock of kids' menus and wine lists at the podium
Keep menus clean and replace worn menus as needed
Create and update seating chart each shift
Maintain waiting list of members
Answer telephone and take reservations
Assist Servers and Server Assistants with refilling beverages and clearing/resetting tables during busy periods
Assist members with coats if time permits
Attend line-up meetings as scheduled
Assist in training new Hosts/Hostesses
Support Server Assistants; may be scheduled as Server Assistant if needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education required. No experience necessary.
SCHEDULE: Part-time, averaging 15-25 hours per week. Primary shifts are 10:30-3:00PM or 4:30PM-10:00PM.

SERVER ASSISTANT:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assist in carrying food trays to tables
Pour water in guests' glasses
Remove soiled dishes from tables and bring to dish washing area
Wipe chairs and clean surrounding area
Set tables with silverware, glasses and other items according to CCV standards
Assist servers with side work as needed
Pick-up daily requisitions from main storeroom
Store requisitions in proper areas
Report to work on time and in proper uniform
Assist in training new Server Assistants
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education required. No experience necessary.
SCHEDULE: Part-time, averaging 15-25 hours per week. Primary shifts are 10:30-3:00PM or 4:30PM-10:00PM.

SERVER:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
Greet members at table and answer menu questions
Promote daily specials and take food and beverage orders accurately
Place orders with kitchen and inform cooks of any special instructions
Deliver food and beverages and ensure member satisfaction
Remove soiled dishes
Verify accuracy of prices, tax, and tips; operate Point-of-Sale computer system
Assist server assistants with clearing and resetting tables as needed
Advise supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur
Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
Complete opening and closing side work
Attend line-up meetings as scheduled
Assist with the training of new servers
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education required. Experience preferred, but not required.
SCHEDULE: Part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week. Primary shifts are 10:00AM-3:00PM or 3:00/4:00-close (approximately 10:00PM).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for lengthy periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee is also required to stand and reach with hands and arms and regularly use hands and fingers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job during the summer season, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:
It is Club policy not to hire any employee under the age of 16. Must be at least 18 years old in order to serve alcohol and at least 21 years old to tend bar (includes all Banquet serving staff).
