As Superintendent, Marine Electrical, you will beresponsible for continuously providing technical support to the designated ships as assigned by the Manager, Electrical Services. You will, plan and manage all aspects of electrical engineering activities within Marine Operations to the ships assigned. In addition you will ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes on board ships assigned are in conformance with organization's policies and statutory requirements. The alternative Superintendent, Marine Electrical (appointed by Manager, Electrical Services) will serve as deputy for this position.

Career Snapshot:
Keep the specified (or) assigned Ship Manager updated of his activities in the respective ships and coordinate all major projects through that position.

Motivate ship personnel and encourage teamwork and improvement. Maintain direct communication, including frequent visits, with senior management and the Ship Manager to assist in the selection and installation of machinery, equipment and safety appliances to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company safety and environmental policy

Support the repair and maintenance of all RCCL ships electrical systems and oversee dry dock planning and technical budgets of the Deck, Engine and Hotel departments, in coordination with Ship Manager. Together with the Ship Manager, ensure and coordinate (well within the time frame) from flag state, class association, or other government bodies any change to the construction or equipment onboard.

Work closely with the representatives from various classification societies and governing agencies which regulate the operation of our ships.

Study the efficiency of the shipsÿ electrical plants in cooperation with the shipsÿs Chief Electrical Engineer and propose long-term investment plans for improvement of the operation.

Recommend equipment and designs for future projects. Recommend and approve electrical equipment for use onboard the ships. Advise on follow-up projects.


Background in Marine Electrical, Electronic, and Power Engineering

10+ years experience in crusie industry, classification society or similar.

Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.

Ability to manage the financial aspects of the assigned functions, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost efficiencies.

Previous passenger vessel Chief Electrician experience

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent highly desirable.
