The Superintendent Vetting will coordinate the overall day-to-day vetting activity of approximately 1200 vessels annually as well as the coordination of inspection activities. Provide marine technical support for commercial marine activity in San Antonio.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts day to day vetting of all marine vessels; coordinating with the Tesoro Marine Superintendents to ensure that all vetting activity is consistent, timely and properly documented.

Assist with management of the Tesoro SIRE Inspection Service which includes arranging inspections, coordinating with vessel owners, and review and approval of inspection reports to vessel owners and OCIMF.

Maintains working relationships with industry peer vetting organizations, the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), vessel technical operators and USCG.

Conducts SIRE inspections in support of TSO Inspection Service.

Conducts ship and barge technical manager audits.

Provides marine technical support and advice to Commercial in San Antonio.

Is a member of the Incident Management Team.

Is a key member of the Tesoro Marine group incident investigation team.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Minimum undergraduate degree from an accredited university.

Minimum Unlimited Masters License required.

Minimum 10 years at sea experience as deck officer required.

Minimum 3 years sea experience in a senior management position as Chief Officer or Master on board tankers required.
