The Market Development Supervisor is responsible for managing the Business Class Market Development Team. The Supervisor will be responsible for directing the activities of a team whose responsibility is to increase the serviceable business passing’s in support of the sales goals of the Sales Account Executive teams. This individual will supervise a group of employees who contribute to the day-to-day activities of the team.
Essential Job Functions:
The Market Development Supervisor is responsible for the activity of the team which identifies new build opportunities and strategies in line with goals established by executive management.
The Market Development Supervisor will be responsible for providing supporting documentation, reporting, and assisting with inter-departmental communications.
The Market Development Supervisor and his/her staff will also provide support to the Sales Account Executive staff as required.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervise and direct the daily activity of a Market Development team.
Schedule and allocate team resources to meet the goals of the department.
Establish work cues and schedules which ensure work is completed in support of department goals.
Measure, track and report progress toward established goals.
Ensure records and documentation is created and maintained.
Provide escalation support, and ensure escalation procedures are followed. Take appropriate actions to communicate and resolve issues.
Mentor and develop staff members. Establish S.M.A.R.T. goals for team members, and tracks their completion in the TWC performance tracking database.
Develop and maintain training and career path guidelines for members of the team.
Act as a technical advisor between management and the Market Development team.
Drive to meetings at TWCBC offices and other locations throughout Southern California.
Other duties as assigned.
5+ years experience in a telecommunications or infrastructure provider vertical (preferably with an MSO, LEC, or Cellular Carrier).
Expert skill level with: GoogleEarthPro, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MapInfo, and Bentley.com.
Familiarity with optical fiber network construction methods and procedures.
Familiarity with Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) network construction methods and procedures.
Familiarity with optical networking, Wave Division Multiplexing (xWDM), SONET and Ethernet technology is a plus.
Proficient with: MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS MapPoint and MS Outlook.
Strong project management discipline.
Experience supervising multiple employees is preferred.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
