Job Responsibilities:
The role holder is responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned operations personnel in order to effectively operate the LNG plant to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient production and delivery of vaporized liquefied natural gas while complying with all applicable federal, state, and city codes and regulations.
Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner. Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work in order to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively. Contribute to the protection of the public and organizational personnel by ensuring all plant operations, maintenance, standards and procedures are in line with National Grid safety policies and processes. Act as the first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide support and ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreements and plant operational requirements. Collate information in order to ensure operational activity is in line with external regulations and ensure more senior team members have accurate and up to date information as required. Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes. Monitor and assess plant working practices to ensure they are compliant with regulations relating to their area. Oversee the operational workload of plant workforce; ensuring allocated staff is fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed program of work. Ensure supervised team complies with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff. Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day to day relationship with them in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with National Grid policies and processes. Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies. Promote and implement procedural best practice within the team in order to ensure all working practices are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor and challenge business processes where appropriate in order to ensure National Grid is compliant with regulatory requirements.

Job Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field, or 5 years' of supervisory experience, or 5 years' practical experience in methods, processes and techniques relevant to LNG or Propane Air plant operations. Technically proficient within LNG processes with experience of leading an operational team. Strong understanding of all LNG plant operations and maintenance functions. Understanding of plant Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) with ability to edit and verify. Good understanding of the LNG storage tanks and systems in place to assure safe operation. Must have a good working knowledge of tools and systems used within an LNG plant. Possesses theoretical knowledge and understanding of National Grid's policies and processes and how to apply them effectively. Specifically, vigilantly maintain the extensive record systems used to verify compliance with state and federal codes. Must be able to troubleshoot and solve plant operating and maintenance problems. Must have experience managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships. Ensure Training/Testing and development of LNG operators and documentation proper training. Develop, edit and verify operating, isolation and maintenance procedures. Must be available 24/7 and able to respond as needed. Resolve Employee / Human Resources issues in conjunction with Industrial Relations and Plant Manager as needed.
