The Supervisor, Medical Management is responsible for managing the Medical Management associates through day to day operations to achieve performance metrics and to ultimately provide customer satisfaction through customer centric servicing and administration. The Supervisor, will assess, plan and implement strategies for managing daily assignments and workflow. Act as a resource providing leadership and direction to the case and disease management associates. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, regulatory requirements monitoring, department productivity and efficacy statistics, reporting HIPAA issues, coordinating staff schedules, and continuously monitoring our processes for optimal outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Active, unrestricted RN licensure in the State of New York is required. Utilization/Case Management certification preferred.

  • At least five (5) years of experience in clinical setting required; three (2) of which are specific to Case and/or UM management scope/practice.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a management or supervisory role within a healthcare setting required.

  • Knowledge of Managed medical policies, procedures and regulations relevant to the department’s target population.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;

  • Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member and leader of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to lead or influence others positively to achieve desired work results and ability to work effectively with others to achieve desired goals.

  • Exhibits creativity and self motivation, with ability to effectively solve problems as they arise.

  • Flexibility in setting priorities; analytical skills to evaluate problems and develop alternative solutions

  • The ability to give feedback to staff members in a respectful and constructive manner.

  • Participates in staff education and development programming.

  • Ability to asses medical responsibility and maintain confidentiality.

  • Solid PC skills required (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Maintains confidentiality and uses only the minimum medical amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job related responsibilities.
