We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Ontario, California Location.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
'Oversee a team of frontline employees responsible for operating and maintaining high speed bottling equipment
'Manage relationships with Planning, Quality, Maintenance and the Warehouse to maximize efficiencies and achievement of targets
'Facilitate the execution of changes and activities needed to support Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) and the pursuit of TPM
'Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements
'Review daily achievement of targets and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings
'Use continuous improvement methodologies and projects to improve and streamline production
'Prioritize, schedule, and ensure maintenance & repairs are completed to maximize efficiency through effective Down Hours Planning.
'Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance Mechanic and Team members to identify opportunities for improvement.
'Ensure the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives
'Ensure a clean and safe work environment, in accordance with plant operating standards and internal and external regulations
'Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management
'Oversee the proper training of new hires and seasonal staff
'Provide weekend coverage as a member of the leadership team in the facility
Key qualifications include:
Supply Chain or related field required; 'Bachelor's degree in Engineering or masters preferred
'Five or more years of experience within manufacturing with two or more years of experience in a supervisory capacity with production line ownership required
'Prior experience in the consumer products industry or food and beverage with familiarity with quality and hygiene regulation desired
'Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, and various problem solving methodologies
'Solid understanding of production processes and mechanics of line equipment
'Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and business management software (SAP preferred).
'Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and production monitoring systems (i.e. EIT)
'Grasp of cost implications on various operations related factors
'Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives on tight deadlines and delegate accordingly
'Effective communication skills with the ability to influence change and encourage action
'Solid problem solving abilities with the ability to coach and mentor others in this capacity
'Demonstrated track record of developing employees
'Ability and willingness to respond to after hours calls for critical issues and provide weekend coverage.
