Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, Registration and Client Services (ARC), performs and manages the registration and evaluation functions for the Tseng College. In support of the graduate and undergraduate degree programs, credit and non-credit certificate programs, Open University, Intensive English program and the conditional graduate/undergraduate admission programs, this position interacts with external clients that include students, applicants, and community members, and with internal clients which include members of the CSUN central Admissions and Records (A&R) office and program manager and coordinators within the College. Acts as the lead evaluator overseeing other evaluation staff; supervises student assistants; and works with other functional staff members, within the ARC department, to ensure full coverage at the front counters. Provides periodic professional development training on admission and registration to the ARC staff and program managers and coordinators of the college. Along with the Director of ARC, acts as the liaison representing the Tseng College to the University in matters related to the registration and admission policies.
The primary tasks of this position include, but are not limited to, international and domestic evaluation of admissions applications for graduate and undergraduate programs, evaluation and conditional admission of international applicants, student registration and customer service (These assignments are performed and governed by CSUN/CSU policies as well as common practices of Tseng College Office of ARC). With regard to transcript evaluation, the incumbent researches and analyzes all pertinent policies as well as references industry standards for international transcript evaluations; performs analysis of situations as required; makes sound recommendations to the Director of ARC for special situations that arise; and performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge's and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field. A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Supervisory and/or project lead experience is highly desired. Experience with enrolling and supporting international students including I-20s and SEVIS as well as international transcript evaluation are strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of international admission evaluation policies for an accredited University, familiar with I-20s, and SEVIS regulations are required. Working knowledge and experience with large database systems, preferably in higher education (such as Oracle Database Systems). Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus. Working knowledge of research and interview techniques; and working knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior. Ability and Specialized Skills to: interpret and apply program rules and regulations; use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements; obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews; reason logically; ability to collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data; advise students individually and in groups; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; supervise the work of others; obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews; communicate and work with a diverse campus community; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Hours: Full-time; may include some evenings.
