Under the direction of the Manager, supervises the day-to-day operations of the Wisconsin Tissue Bank (WTB), assuring quality, operational/cost effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. The position supervises a team of tissue procurement staff in multiple locations. In addition, this position collaborates with Organ Procurement staff to increase organ and tissue donation awareness and grow donation referrals.
Responsibilities will include participating in the management of the budget, monitoring systems/processes for compliance with regulations, and working with staff on process improvements. This position will be a resource for staff members, will analyze tissue recovery procedures, and ensure that staff members are educated on applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures impact their job responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience working in a regulated Operating Room (OR) environment and experience performing tissue procurement in a tissue bank. A minimum of 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience is a must. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; related equivalent experience may be considered as approved by BCW. Certification as a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) granted by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) is preferred.
This position has an irregular work schedule including rotation to weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, and on-call responsibilities. Position also requires a valid Wisconsin driver's license and access to a vehicle.
