Supervisor Food Services:
Plans, organizes and oversees the Food Service Department and all related activities at the assigned location: Putnam Hospital Center.
Ensures that day-to-day operations of the Food Services Department fulfills the needs of each facility and that departmental performance exceeds quality benchmarks.
Assures compliance, at all times, with regulatory agencies such as New York State Dept. of Health, County Dept. of Health, JCAHO, DEC and CMS.
Provides for the Food Service Department environments to be maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly fashion through development and implementation of monitoring systems in all areas of the department to provide for productivity and accuracy of tasks assigned
Creates department schedules and leads to ensure adequate coverage for department activities. Works closely with Operations Manager to assure replacements for vacant positions. Positions are approved for posting within one week of vacancy.
Coordinates and oversees patient meal delivery to assure that meals are served according to Dept. schedule. Monitors food temperatures and plate presentation to assure that standards are being met.
Implements and communicates Human Resources policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Conducts employee disciplinary procedures with appropriate documentation according to human resources policy and employee relations laws and guidelines. All discipline to be performed with Operations Manager involvement.
Assumes responsibility for effective fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of financial resources.
Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the quality of services provided by the Department, and assists Operations Manager in implementing appropriate safety programs.

Education: Associate Degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Requires a minimum of three years of Food Service experience with at least one year supervisory experience preferred.
Must have experience working in a union environment and have a hospital/healthcare background.

License: Serve Safe Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
