The Supervisor Gas Operations is responsible for the efficient scheduling and supervision of gas utility crews engaged in the operations of the gas system, including Combo crews in the Bozeman Division.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards
· Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy’s values, mission, and strategic business objectives
· Ensures that safety goals and objectives are met
· Ensures work is done in compliance with all appropriate laws, rules, and regulations
· Provides instruction in and ensures compliance of proper work methods, construction standards, and safety procedures
· Must be progressive in obtaining efficiencies and be open to new methods for attaining the required end results
· Will take “on call duties” as assigned and will be available for other after hour assignments as situations dictate
· Plan and organize short (daily)and long-term work schedule to ensure division production goals are met
· Participate in the development of annual budgets
· Develop and participate in performance appraisals, safety accountability checks and process claims reports
· This position requires walking or standing and occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds
· Portion of the time is spent working outdoors in a variety of weather extremes, with exposure to normal field hazards.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS · Must be able to demonstrate a good safety record
· Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
· Applicants for this position should have a working knowledge of the natural gas utility and construction business
· Should be knowledgeable in all aspects of utility work including gate stations and regulator stations
· Planning and problem solving skills are required
· Strong computer skills required
· Supervisory skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and the general public are required.
· Experience in, or ability to acquire natural gas distribution, electric and communication construction methodologies is desirable
· Must have a valid Montana Driver’s License, and updated First Aid and CPR cards.
