Oversees the daily operation of the Collections Department.

Responsibilities:
Acts as a front-line resource for department staff
•Develops and maintains extensive knowledge of the internal systems utilized within the Collection Department
•Monitors departmental workflow to ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner
•Audits the monthly collection totals and verifies the total dollars collected on FRED and provides the Collection Manager with the monthly breakdown of bonuses earned
•Maintains current and accurate knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the collection of defaulted student loans, specifically: bankruptcy laws, due diligence requirements, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, The ECMC Collector Code of Ethics, and any applicable state laws
•Researches, analyzes, and resolves difficult accounts
•Assists Collection Manager in on-going development of Collection system and policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the collections effort
•Performs UAT and Post Deployment Testing as needed
•Hires, trains, manages and develops department staff which includes conducting performance reviews and addressing department concerns
•Complies with all ECMC Group Policies
•Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:

WORK SCHEDULE:
•Required to work normal hours to successfully perform the job responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
•High School diploma or GED
Experience:
•1+ years management/ leadership experience
•2+ years experience working in the student loan, financial services, or banking industry
Skills:
•Intermediate knowledge working in a computer-based office suite environment; Microsoft Windows or MAC Office
•Proven analytical and problem solving skills
•Solid knowledge of the internal systems utilized within the Collection Department
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Education:
•Post-secondary degree
Experience:
•Experience in the student loan industry
Skills:
•Ability to analyze, research, and resolve difficult accounts
•Solid written and verbal communication skills
