Position Summary: A Supervisor is responsible for maintaining superior customer service per Company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations, arranging, organizing and displaying merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment and safeguarding company assets. A Supervisor is also responsible for managing the store in the Store Manager or Assistant Manager’s absence, training a portion of the Sales Associate training program, ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed and keeping the Store Manager informed of all activities and problems.

Ability to handle all aspects of the customers’ needs including

Follow all applicable Anna’s Linens customer service standards and hold teams accountable to the same. (greeting, talking up promotions, engaging customers throughout store, quick, thorough check-out)

Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe shopping environment

Processing customer transactions, including processing credit cards, checks, merchandise credits, gift cards, cash and discounts properly.

Processing customer refunds per the refund policy.

Resolving customer problems and handling customer complaints with a professional and calm demeanor.

Following established policies and procedures for verifying payment and ensuring accuracy. Notifying SM of any discrepancies

Following merchandising guidelines to conduct ad sets, moves, create displays, etc.

Processing merchandise

Unloading trucks – carrying or moving boxes

Unpacking boxes and sorting merchandise

Stocking shelves, counters, racks and tables as directed by the Daily Task List and Weekly Checklist.

Bringing top stock down or out of stock room to restock empty shelves, tables, and bins

Preparing displays as directed by the Daily Task List.

Straightening merchandise during shift and at the end of the day to ensure the store is neat, clean and organized.

Participating in inventory.

Register Operations:
Ringing customer transactions, processing credit cards, checks, merchandise credits, gift cards, cash and discounts properly.

Bagging merchandise and ensuring unpaid merchandise isn’t placed in bag

Counting and balancing assigned cash drawer for accuracy and accountability

Following established policies and procedures for verifying payment (cash and credit cards) and ensuring accuracy. Notifying SM of any discrepancies

Managerial Effectiveness:
Overseeing and supervising the store in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager including meeting or exceeding the sales goals, average transaction, conversion and Fan of Anna’s goals during their shift.

Training Sales Associates in a portion of the THREADS training program.

Counting and balancing the cash drawers and safe funds.

Preparing daily deposit paperwork and ensuring deposit is made (either at bank or via armored car)

Processing opening or closing paperwork per procedure

Conducting beginning of day or end of day register operations

Assigning work tasks to shift employees, ensuring all tasks are completed

Answering alarm calls and ensuring updated contact information is on file

Performs other store duties as needed to ensure smooth operations and meet customers’ needs.

Required Skills

Qualifications for consideration:
High School Degree or its equivalent

1 year of supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, or other service industry or its equivalent if hired externally or currently holding a Sales Associate position at Anna’s Linens with demonstrated ability in supervisory skills.

Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Ability to speak, read, write and understand English as it relates to conversing with customers and employees, and all Anna’s Linens written policy and procedures, training materials, directives and other materials Anna’s Linens produces.

Ability to perform basic math functions including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers in order to operate the register, make change, count inventory, complete Daily Read Sheets, etc.

Ability to stand and walk around the store for 6-8 hour periods of time (or more), lift overhead, push, pull, climb or balance on a ladder; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may frequently be required to lift up to 45 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move over 45 pounds.
