This position is located in the Outpatient Records Department located Branch Medical Clinic, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Must be a qualified typist. DUTIES:
  • Provide first time supervision to civil service employees by setting performance standards, checking quality of work, conducting performance ratings, approving leave requests, certify timecards.
  • Interview applicants as medical support assistant vacancies occur and make recommendations to the Administrative Officer for selection.
  • Give advice, councel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Hear and resolve complaints from employees.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience providing supervision on all subordinate personnel and ensure the smooth functioning of clinic activities.

Experience ordering and recording supplies, equipment and filing of medical records, requiring the ability to follow specific instructions.

Experience using uncomplicated filing systems to file materials such as; patient charts, locator cards and reference materials.

Experience scheduling appointments, referring patients to appropriate clinic, medical health provider or other services, assembling patient medical records and releasing information from the record.

Experience receiving and following through on patient request for treatment.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You will be rated under Category Rating procedures based on the extent to which your experience meets the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the position and rated as shown below. Additional points are not added for veterans' preference; however, preference is still applied. A pplicants eligible for veteran's preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
