As a Supervisory Social Worker, for the Office of Human Resources, Office of the Director, Staff Care Unit, you will serve as the senior-level subject matter expert in the area of human clinical behavioral and mental health.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Suitability for Federal employment determined by background investigation.

DUTIES:
Provides mental health services to Agency staff members and eligible family members on a broad range of personal and work related issues to include relationships, occupational issues, achieving personal goals, managing life changes, anxiety and depression, bouncing back after adversity, workplace pressure and stress, stress management, chronic stress, marital issues, work-life balance, workplace conflicts, grief, alcohol and/or drug abuse, terrorist attack, evacuation, injuries, personal tragedies, etc.

Performs consultation for the USAID workforce in the United States and those in international development and humanitarian assistance settings, and in high threat and non-permissive environments in developing countries to include, but not limited to, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, and Yemen.

Designs, implements and evaluates behavior health programs and policies to ensure - effectiveness and efficiency in the United States and in international development and humanitarian assistance environments.

Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned.

Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative for mental health clinicians and Work-Life components of the Agency’s Staff Care Program.

Performs liaison activities to internal and external partners and stakeholders including the Agency’s Staff Care contractors, business and industry associations, domestic and foreign universities, local, state, and federal government including Congress, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the basic AND specialized experience requirement as noted below:

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Possess a Master’s degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (You must submit transcript at time of application submission)

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service that included serving as a subject matter expert on behavioral and mental health services to an Agency’s workforce in the United States, and those assigned in international development and humanitarian assistance settings including those assigned to high threat environments; participating in the development, assessment, and monitoring of a behavioral health program; and leading the work of others.

You must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
