The Supervisory Therapist is a first-level supervisory and program management position overseeing professional psychotherapists and related staff in the operations room. The primary duties are administrative program oversight and clinical oversight of the four therapeutic components at the 24 hour Crisis Center, which include Mobile Crisis Team, walk-ins, telephone calls, and Crisis Residential beds. Additional responsibilities include collaboration and coordination with other County agencies and community partners to accomplish integration of services, and response to community wide emergencies and disaster behavioral health situations. This position shares supervisory coverage of the operations room in person during the business week, and on call after-hours coverage with two other Crisis Center Supervisory Therapists. This position is essential personnel for the Department of Health and Human Services during County emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Considerable (3 years) post licensure professional clinical counseling experience.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related field appropriate to the area of specialization required by the position.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Employees in this class have a mandatory licensure requirement, as cited in COMAR which contains regulations governing the practice of clinical counseling/psychotherapy. One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland , must be held and maintained by the employee:

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT)
Licensed Clinical Alcohol Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C)
Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Psychiatric Mental Health (APRN-PMH)
Licensed Psychologist

Preferred Criteria

1. Professional experience in a crisis center, emergency room and/or other 24 hour setting providing behavioral health services; and

2. 3-5 years experience providing professional clinical supervision to mental health clinicians

All applicants will be reviewed by OHR to determine whether or not they meet minimum qualifications for the position. All applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be reviewed and rated by subject matter experts based on the Preferred Criteria. Based on the results of Preferred Criteria evaluation, applicants will be rated and placed on the Eligible List as either "Qualified" or "Well Qualified." The highest rated applicants will be placed on the Eligible List and may be considered for interview. Employees meeting minimum qualifications who are same grade or higher will be placed on Eligible List as a "Transfer" candidate and may be considered for interview. Note: In the event there are 5 or less minimally qualified candidates, all will be placed on the Eligible List as Qualified and will be interviewed.
