Position Title: Supplemental Records and Registration Assistant
Department: Records and Registration
Reports To: Registrar

Anticipated Starting Date: February 11, 2013

All supplemental employees are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS).

Provide front line assistance to students and staff for all functions related to records information, registration, cashiering, residency verifications, and transcript requests in person, over the phone, and online in compliance with FERPA guidelines. Maintain degree information for CAPP. Produce letters to students encouraging degree completion and track results. The ideal candidate should have the ability to master the use, operation, and minor maintenance of equipment assigned to the position within initial probationary period. This individual will have good listening and communication skills, be flexible and able to deal with interruptions, and will maintain a high work ethic, integrity, and confidentiality. Will have the ability to perform basic business math and effectively communicate with customers and employees both verbally and in writing.


  • One year post-secondary coursework in technical or related area plus one to two years of work experience
  • Customer Service experience
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of and the ability to use the Internet, email, and calendaring software
  • Database skills and experience, Microsoft Access® and/or SCT Banner preferred
  • Cashiering experience

This is a temporary position; hours may vary depending on availability. The typical working hours will be Mondays-Fridays between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
