The Supplier Quality Engineer holds the ultimate responsibility of ensuring quality functions of operational goods. You will anticipate potential problems, identify and resolve performance issues that affect the reliability or maintainability of products. Using your expertise and knowledge knowhow, you will successfully partner with the purchasing team to reduce the life cycle cost of materials.

What you ’ll do: Lead and conduct supplier inspections and audits using auditing principles outlined by Speck QA Department. Insure that suppliers consistently meet or exceed all facets to Speck MA, product design, quality documents, specifications, and SOP ’s Maintain communication with suppliers, purchasing managers, and QA Department on appropriate issues and improvements. Identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, components, and materials. Identify potential problems, corrective actions with Suppliers sub-contractors.

Develop quality plan and inspection guide for all parts. Maintain records for supplier inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Maintain and report on Non Conformances and possible trends to the QA Department. Support QA Department and sourcing managers in the development of new suppliers or existing suppliers of new products to improve reliability or reduce cost.

Work closely with purchasing managers, engineering, QA Department, and suppliers to resolve compliance issues and problems. Liaison with in-house on team on quality specification and coordinate quality improvement programs across functional areas. Supervise activities of and Identify training needs for inspectors, review available training program and schedule inspectors to be trained. Quality Engineering in the areas of DFM, FA, Six Sigma Programs (Optional).

Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager. What you need to have: College degree or equivalent experience. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of mechanical systems and metrology tools Ability to apply Quality Principles including ISO 9001 Knowledge of Plastics and Injection Molding processes Corrective action methodology skills Ability to perform a formal root cause analysis Knowledge of manufacturing, and production methodology Ability to read and work with 3D cad model a plus (proE/Cero) .
