The Manager Supplier Quality shall be responsible to develop and oversee the supplier quality program at Aerosystems. The Supplier Quality Manager shall manage the supplier quality relationship for TIMCO Aerosystems by developing performance metrics, coordinate site inspection staffing as well as initiate and control the supplier corrective action process.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and maintain supplier quality data base with real time supplier performance data.
  • Coordinate with all Aerosystems facilities to ensure the supplier quality database reflects all suppliers of services to Aerosystems.
  • Evaluate the necessity to staff suppliers with inspection personnel to ensure delivery of a defect free product to TIMCO Aerosystems.
  • Review, interview and select Source Inspectors staffing focusing on contract personnel housed near facilities to fill needs.
  • Train Source Inspectors prior to assignment.
  • Perform supplier trend analysis activities to identify and resolve negative trends minimizing non conforming product delivery impacts.
  • Develop and maintain a shared repository of supplier quality performance data and provide quality supplier status reports to company management.
  • Develop a supplier quality rating system.
  • Initiate alerts when supplier quality performance falls below established performance minimums.
  • Participate in projects to bring about improvement of supplier processes to reduce scrap, rework and ineffective practices to improve reliability and/or reduce cost.
  • Develop and perform statistical quality calculations associated with established key characteristics to reduce variation of identified characteristics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of quality system basics, ethical business conduct and regulatory principles.
  • Monitor the handling of TIMCO Aerosystems and customer proprietary data by complying with company policies, procedures and accepted business practices.
  • Support Corporate goals for small business/small disadvantaged business by promoting the use of qualified sources and by seeking, encouraging and assisting new candidates to become qualified.
  • Perform other analytical duties as assigned.
  • Interface with on site receiving inspection personnel to ensure appropriate supplier data is being captured for report development.
  • Develop budget for supplier quality requirements based on anticipated need and operate within that budget.
  • Serve as supervisor of assigned staff with responsibilities including hiring of employees, monitoring of performance, administering of disciplinary action, separation of employment, and resolution of employee related issues regarding assigned staff.


  • Qualifications:

    MINIMUM:

  • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Auditor and/or Quality Inspector.
  • Strong knowledge of measurement tools and techniques
  • Ability to perform statistical studies.
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and accurately perform duties.
  • Must have independent problem solving skills.
  • International and domestic travel required, up to 20%.
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language.
