The Analyst will support strategies aimed to reduce incident rates in the primary 5 Safety Categories.

The analyst’s role will be to review and analyze trend data collected in the AmeriGas Safety Incident Reporting, Tracking, and Corrective Action Database System (Dakota), provide timely & accurate analysis of the information to identify trends, report key metrics monthly, and communicate results and information as applicable to the department & field.

The analyst is expected to act as administrator of the Dakota System, act as the liaison between the company & resource provider; manage user, structure, & content

; and facilitate training as necessary.


Maintain the Dakota system, including organizational hierarchy, incident/injury classification, and assignment of security rights.

Complete monthly Metrics reports of incident rates in key performance categories for company leadership

Provide end user help/support with regard to access, reporting incidents, system navigation and ad hoc education (helpdesk type of support).

Conduct routine analysis and evaluation of accident and injury data for employee, vehicle, plant, and third-party incidents.

Perform routine trend analyses of injury and incident data for Regional Safety Managers and Operations Management.

Assists in the development of programs to improve performance as requested.

Monitor, using Dakota, the corrective action follow-up from field safety audits in all business units and provides status reports to management identifying problem areas and verifying compliance.

Analyze audit findings, identify trends, and assist in the development of programs to improve performance as required.

Work with Safety Leadership and vendor to build and improve regulatory compliance profiles and participate as needed in compliance audits of selected AmeriGas operating facilities.

Assist in the development and delivery of training for users of the Dakota system.

Generate routine and special request performance reports to management.

Assists in the development of other safety procedures and training programs as needed.


A Bachelor’s degree is required in Mathematics or Statistics.

1 to 2 years related experience is required

Limited travel to field locations.

Statistical Analysis – Experience in data analysis and statistics that will provide new insights into improved safety performance.

Computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet) required; advanced computer skills a plus.

Communications – Ability to prepare analysis, Power Points, and effective writing and speaking skills in teams and groups.

Good communication skills, adaptive to change, problem solving skills, bias for action.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform or be able to develop the skills and knowledge to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
