Position Purpose:
The Petco Intern program is a 10-week program for college students to work in various areas of Supply Chain/Logistics. The objective of the intern program is to provide interns the opportunity to investigate career opportunities in their field of interest with hands-on experience prior to graduation. Interns will be given project-based work related to their field of interest, which may include the following areas:


Forecasting & Volume modeling


Engineering labor management studies


Damage Reduction program


Assist with the implementation of international track & trace MOQ at PO level


Developing Inbound freight percentages in RMS

Once completed, the intern will have additional knowledge to determine if a career in their chosen field is the right opportunity to pursue.

Program Objectives:
Develop a business mentality

Understand Petco and the retail industry

Develop planning, organizational and time management skills

Learn how to apply specific education, skills and tactics in the area of focus

Develop research, statistical analysis and presentation skills

Learn team-based work competencies

Common Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on projects to include research, compile and present statistics, and present recommendations

Work with current staff on current projects

Propose solutions for department or company issues

Write internal communications

Take responsibility for some regular work tasks

Create presentations, supporting documentation or reports as needed

Compile or update employee process manuals for tasks with high employee turnover

Assist with reports or audits as needed


Selection Criteria:
Currently pursing a Bachelor’s degree in field related to functional internship area

Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

The internship will start in San Antonio on May 20th and end on July 26th.
