      Description

      As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in the CAT Drivetrain Component Engineering Team, you are responsible for facility performance levels to corporate targets for successful supplier source changes and cost reduction implementation.

      Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

      * Performing work to achieve ACSP cost reduction targets.
      * Leading key supplier source change projects.

      * Process development and improvement of existing processes and standard work.
      * Working effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the supply chain planning process and leading team efforts to develop lean material flow plans for a facility, which may include implementing changes to material presentation at the point of use.
      * Gathering and analyzing data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production
      * Gathering and analyzing data about supplier inventory, production, and PPAP status.
      * Developing material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production.
      * Leading deployment teams, in the execution of Pull Material Replenishment processes in a plant
      * Performing physical, tactical work to reduce / eliminate supply chain constraints at both the facility and value stream level, working with a cross-functional team of personnel.

      Qualifications

      Required Qualifications:

      * College or university degree.
      * Experience in and knowledge of Purchasing practices and Supply Chain principles.

      * Experience with supplier sourcing.

      * Experience with project management tools.

      * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project

      * Strong understanding and previous experience using common supply chain systems

      * Leadership skills to effectively lead improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people.

      * Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common processes across multiple departments within a business division.

      * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

      * Ability to creatively solve complex problems.

      * Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.

      Desired Qualifications:

      * Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Buyer.

      * APICS training.

      * Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.

      * Experience with supplier sourcing with CAT suppliers.

      * A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

      * Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge.
