an Ammunition Specialist you will perform duties involving receipt, shipment,
issue, turn-in, storage and accountability of ammunition, explosives and
ammunition components. He/she is responsible
for the completion of daily tasks assigned by the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP)
Manager, conducting DD Form 626 vehicle inspections and completing DD Form
2890’s as required.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for planning, directing and
conducting work involved in the storage, shipment, receipt, issue, turn-in,
re-warehousing, inspection, repackaging, inventory and accountability of
ammunition, explosives and ammunition components. Review daily workload and backlog provided by
Stock Control to plan and schedule work based on priority, direct assignments
to ASP employees. Ensure that all
ammunition and explosives received and transferred is accurate in quantity and
lot number. Ensure all transactions are
properly annotated on Magazine Data Cards DD Form 3020-R. Ensure proper documentation flow and
completeness IAW Army Regulation and Internal SOP. Responsible for providing all completed daily
ASP working documents to Stock Control for timely processing. Plan, schedule and conduct periodic or
special inventory of ammunition and explosives utilizing the Stock Status
report. Elevate quantity discrepancies
to the ASP Manager. Plan and coordinate
with Defense Resource Medical Office (DRMO), Stock Control and ASP personnel
for ammunition residue shipments, ensure proper documentation is completed
prior to DRMO delivery. Assist Quality
Assurance Specialist Ammunition Specialist (QASAS) personnel with ammunition,
explosives and ammunition component inspection and repackaging involving
physically handling ammunition and explosives outside of its factory
package. Complete required DD Form 2890
for ammunition and explosives shipments and issues being transported off-post. Conduct DD Form 626 Vehicle Inspections. Implement continued improvements of Stock
Control and ASP operations IAW Army regulation.
Maintain close coordination with quality control requirements and take
necessary action to resolve deficiencies.
Perform duties of the SAAS-Mod Operator
and ASP Manager in their absence.
Receive, store, issue and assist in
inventory of ammunition.
Inspect ammunition for serviceability with

Perform other duties as directed by the ASP
Job Qualifications & Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience
school graduate or equivalent, and at least three years of ammunition
supply and logistical experience in the U.S. military.
have current HAZMAT certification.

government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for
access to classified information. Candidate
must be able to perform other duties as assigned at other locations.
Work is typically performed outdoors at the
Ammunition Supply Point and indoors when required.
