NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires military membership in a compatible military assignment in the Iowa Army National Guard. Security Clearance Required: Secret DUTIES:
Performs routine and nonroutine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control through the use of the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorizes procurement and is responsible for funds management. Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. May develop and install local procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain smooth, effective, and coordination storage operations. Performs other duties as assigned. PD D0849
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a secret security clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of start date. Failure to make application for the required security clearance will result in termination.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in clerical or office work such as maintaining records; screening, reviewing, and verifying documents; searching for and compiling information and data; or work involved in the physical handling of supplies and equipment provided this gave the candidate some general knowledge of supply transactions and regulations, procedures, identification codes, etc.
Meeting months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of experience, training or education must be demonstrated to show that applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must indicate 12 months of the following type of experience:
Experience in closely related activities which have provided the applicant with a knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions;and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.
Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of stand procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for three months of specialized experience. Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e., 36 weeks or substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours ) for 12 months of the required experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. Appropriate military training courses will be credited on a month for month basis . If education is being substituted for specialized experience, a college transcript must accompany the application or resume .
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS), LISTED BELOW, WILL BE USED IN THE SELECTION PROCESS. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ARE IMPORTANT TO THE ENTIRE SELECTION PROCESS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED SPECIFICALLY AND COMPLETELY IN THE APPLICATION.
Knowledge of standard methods of receipt or material order documentation control and material processing.
Knowledge of policies and regulations regarding storage space controls, stock location systems, layouts, and storage techniques.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
Knowledge of regulations, and mechanized/statistical techniques in the computation and forecasting of quantitative requirements.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing the accounting for government property.
Ability to research information.
Knowledge of how to fill out, post, file, control, or code supply documents or transactions.
A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position.
Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position.
Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.
Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance may not be authorized for this position. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Government.
