LSInc is seeking a Supply Technician.

Overview of position:
Packaging, Crating, Preserving Material and Transportation Support: Pack, crate and palletize material for shipment and storage to include placing material and protective packing in appropriate shipping container, including boxes, crates, and skids. Band, shrink-wrap and weatherize materials if required. Block and brace items and perform Hazardous Material (HAZMAT)/weapons/ordinance certification in accordance with 49 CFR as applicable. Properly label packaged containers to include but not limited to piece, weight, cube and other markings required by the customer to include marking classified material in accordance with OPNAVINS 5510.30 series (What classified materials and need copy of OPNAVINST to be attached to this solicitation).

As applicable, use shipping containers provided by the customer. Performance of this requirement may involve off-site packing at customer locations. Repack stock material as necessary. Provide custom-built shipping containers to meet customer requirements at both on-site and off-site locations. Packing requirements vary from simple containers (inner bracing) to building complex containers (overly large/heavy items, floating and unique cushioning requirements). As required to support customer requirements, build reusable shipping and storage containers to include incorporating hasps, hinges and latches in the packing. When available, review technical drawings and/or specifications to determine optimum shipping container configuration.

Support requests for off-site assessment of packing requirements from authorized customers. Support provided shall include conducting an off-site inspection of materials, providing customer requirements for shipping, and coordinate local delivery of items to the shipping location. Determine if any special processing or handling is required for shipping.

Provide Shipping/packing/Certification/turn-in/delivery Support: Provide on and off-site certification support of outbound shipments. Certifications include but are not limited to hazardous material, weapons/ammunition and explosives.

Manage Material for Turn-in to Disposal at Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services:

Coordinate all actions required to dispose of material for reutilization using DD Form 1348-1A. Support provided also includes determining what should be disposed of locally and performing required operation, consolidating and coordinating delivery to the regional reutilization facility, and may actually include the transporting of material. Coordinate sale in place material and schedule DLA Disposition Services vendor material pick-ups. Prepare shipping manifest and verify required information. The SP shall maintain/distribute turn-in document records as required. The SP shall perform follow-ups for items rejected by the designated DRMO facility to include but not limited to coordinating material pick-up, and loading/unloading rejected material for resubmission and customer liaison.

Perform material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, using safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. Safeguard material, items and equipment from unauthorized use or pilferage. Perform general housecleaning duties in the assigned area. Perform a daily vehicle inspection on assigned equipment prior to its operation and during shift turnover, to include refueling and other preventative maintenance actions. Note any problems and notify the appropriate the on-site government representative for immediate action. Operate up to a 15k forklift to move, stack, and load or position material.

Education/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities requirements: An extensive working knowledge of the Navy Supply System is required. The skill level of the staff provided shall be current and consistent with new technologies.

Must be properly licensed IAW the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
