Position: Internal Support Engineer
Location: Milford, MA
Length: 12 months (extendable, could be a temp to hire for the right person)
We have a client in Milford, MA that is in need of a Support Engineer to join their established team. Our client is looking for an Internal Support Engineer to service their Testing Group. The contractor will be tasked with creating Virtual Machines using VMWare. Templates will be in place to be worked off of - and also training in VMware is available if necessary. There are roughly 5-10 VM requests per week. In addition to doing work with Virtual Machines, you will also be tasked with PC Troubleshooting, Network resolution, Printer Maintenance, etc.
- All candidates must be able to work a 40 hour work week normal business hours*
Supporting computing requirements including computer and server configurations on both physical and virtual machines along with network support. Will be trained to support new computing technologies as required
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computer issues.
Diagnose and repair basic network problems.
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
1-2+ years of experience working in a Support, Helpdesk or Desktop Support environment.
Proficient in troubleshooting computer hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
Required knowledge in the following areas: MS Office applications, Windows XP operating systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
Must be well organized and possess the ability to multi-task
Must have a continuous improvement mindset
Ideal skills, not requirements:
Virtualization / VM Ware
Windows 2003/2008 servers and Active Directory
Basic knowledge of networking applications and protocols.
Unix, Linux, Solaris knowledge.
