SUMMARY This position serves as a liaison between Seattle Operations and other CellNetix locations in the state and the customers/pathologists that provide service in those areas.
Responsible for providing excellent customer service to all internal and external clientele. The major task within the position is managing incoming consultation request, conference preparation, request for materials to be sent out for 2nd opinion and Legal inquiries. Assist when needed with specimen distribution, report distribution, internal and external customer inquiries, case quality assurance and obtaining needed information from clientele for patient reports. The ideal candidates will posses excellent proofreading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn in a rapidly changing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Accession incoming pathology cases from outside institutions for consults and conferences and distribute them as requested or per specialties Return all outside institute material received. Send out material when requests are received from outside institutions or from the pathologists. Assist with preparing and distributing Conferences along side the Slide Librarian for multiple sites. Receive and process Legal requests.
Assist Pathologists in requesting pathology material / reports from outside institutions Handle all aspects of client/customer questions/issues. Process all incoming and outgoing telephone calls. Monitor and distribute, as appropriate, all incoming correspondence. Collate inpatient and outpatient reports for distribution via courier, printer, mail or other method at various times each day.
Process results of send out tests as directed. Perform quality assurance checks on all Histology and Cytology accessions Trouble shoot various minor issues regarding specimens/reports including initiating calls to clarify labeling problems or missing providers, patient demographics, inc. Pull blocks, slides and reports from historical records for correlation with recent samples. Conform to quality control policies as directed.
Follow defined procedures with only supervisor or pathologist approved modifications or deviations. Always maintains a pleasant, courteous attitude when answering the telephone. Conforms to laboratory timekeeping procedures. Keeps unexcused absences and late arrivals to a minimum.
Participates in weekend and holiday schedules as staffing requirements dictate. Remains flexible and works a share of overtime or different shifts if necessary during staffing shortages or emergencies. Always maintains a safe work environment and attends all safety training classes and conforms to all company safety guidelines and requirements. Participates in monthly department meetings regularly, providing information to broaden the knowledge of the department.
Works directly with supervisors, department heads, pathologists, committees, or executive team to execute new processes and research future business goals/objectives. POSITION IMPACT Position is directly responsible for meeting or exceeding: error rates within the Support Services department Department budget thresholds specimen count/FTE goals Employee retention and training expectations Internal and external client satisfaction expectations EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate or the equivalent 1+ years customer service experience preferably in a medical environment. Anatomic Laboratory experience is desirable.
