General Purpose of Job
Provides support for the STD and LTD claims department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides excellent support for the claims area by handling the following assignments: Outgoing mail in the department, entering all mail, incoming faxes in the claim system via mail manifest. Responsible for maintaining inventory of office supplies Responsible for making copies and filing as necessary for the department. Responsible for closed claims retention process. Responsible for handling and following up on incomplete claims to perfect them and refer to Benefit Specialist. This entails phone calls to customers, client or doctor's office for the missing information; sending follow up letters and emails. Responsible for handling medical requests or follow ups on claims Responsible for maintaining high level of customer service, meeting Department metrics consistently Must be able to display confidentiality. Perform other duties as required Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to productivity. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with collaborative work style. Demonstrated excellent relationship management skills with internal clients (i.e. management, peers, and colleagues).
Job Requirements Education and Experience

High school diploma required Minimum 1 - 3 Years clerical office experience 1 year of general group claims experience desired. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) Excellent data entry skills required Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills are required Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style.
