The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the line and service operations of the Network operations. The Construction Supervisor interfaces with a number of operational, customer service and financial functions in the execution of their daily activities. Major activities include managing safety, service requests, outage restoration, reliability improvement, leading out of town storm teams, responding to Customer Issue Resolution complaints, resolving executive and utility commission complaints and managing network spending. The Construction Supervisor must interface with the Customer Service Manager to provide support in the local community. They must have the ability to motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues. They must have the ability to influence employees at the craft level through Jurisdictional Leadership on a wide variety of safety and training issues. The Construction Supervisor is expected to spend considerable time in the field conducting safety observations.

The Construction Supervisor must be able to recognize employees with supervisory potential and work with these employees to develop them to be future leaders. They must also focus on the training and development of all employees to insure that they are qualified to perform the work they are assigned.

The Construction Supervisor is expected to achieve operational excellence by: 1) setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, 2) learning/teaching process improvements, 3) measuring/monitoring performance levels, 4) providing feedback and coaching performance improvements to employees.
Schedule, assign and monitor work of Entergy construction crews and contract crews.
Insure all work meets company standards, in-service dates and cost estimates.
Work with Engineering and Contracts in preparing bid packages, when required.
Assign, commit and close out construction jobs in DIS.
Verification of completed work assignments and preparation of related invoices.
Read and interpret construction prints.
Attend pre-design and conduct post-construction meetings
Knowledge of company Safe Work Procedures, Construction Practices and Service Standards.
Knowledge of DIS and DIS construction units.

In addition to activities related to construction work this position will be responsible for the management of the Ft. Polk Contract which includes the following.
The contract is comprised of multiple information sections and price proposals. Become familiar with the contract and various sections to discuss operating, pricing and maintenance discussions with the federal government.
Request for Proposals
Prepare a RFP for the Defense Logistical Agency DLA for any capital project (initial or future) and services. DAL will review the RFP and authorize an approval for funding with and adjustment dates. Work with engineering to have projects released to construction for completion. Follow the project to completion and have the adjustment added to the invoice on the agreed time.
DLA meetings / Teleconferences
Conduct monthly calls with DLA to discuss any pricing or contract interpretations.
Major Accounts Billing
Work with MAB to keep the invoice numbers correct with the added adjustments.
Contract Negotiations
DPW monthly meetings
Prepare Project Scope / Pricing
Work with engineering to prepare a scope of work and pricing. Prepare a request to Fort Polk with the scope of work, pricing, AFC adjustment and proposed adjustment date. This project will come back in the form an RFP and is submitted back to DLA.
Knowledge of the ELL operating tariff (AFC)
Knowledge of the approved rate in which contract works with is AFC rate (Option A).

Candidate will be expected to live within 30 minutes of the Ft. Polk office which is inside the military base.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
