Function: Operations (Beef, Poultry, Pork, etc.) Pay Type: Exempt Position Number: 90141706 Supv Gen'l Slaughter Employee Type: Full Time Relocation: Yes SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the supervision of production Hourly Team Members and Front Line Supervisors, for quality, safety, and any additional assignments deemed appropriate by management for this position. The individual in this position must work closely with the management team in achieving objectives; accept full accountability, assignments and day-to-day department responsibility; must be a team player, and will be held accountable for the entire day-to-day Slaughter Operations.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: At least two (2) years experience in the meat industry and no less than one (1)year as a Supervisor with emphasis on Slaughter Operations is required. Must have good all around knowledge of production operations and techniques; food safety; product yields, and USDA regulations.Communication Skills: Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from Hourly to Upper Management, as well as Government Officials.Computer Skills: Basic computer skills Travel: Minimal Supervisory Responsibilities: This person is responsible for supervising a group of team members who perform various production tasks or activities. Ensure compliance with all human resource and safety policies, food safety, sanitation and all other duties as determined by management.Special Skills: Team Leader, problem solving, and special projects. Other Requirements: Good attendance and safety record. Extra consideration given to team members with technical skills; must possess skills and knowledge to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality.
