SUMMARY: This position is responsible for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) which is a science-based process designed to ensure the safety of processed foods. Food processing procedures are analyzed by individual processing plants to identify the most important points at which food safety hazards can be reduced or eliminated. Each plant's HACCP Program must be approved by USDA, who closely monitors program implementation and data collected. The HACCP Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and validation of the Plant's HACCP Program as well as the training and certification of Management, QA and HACCP Monitors. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality. . All team members are responsible for safety this includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.
Education: Broad knowledge in general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelors degree or equivalent in an academic field directly related and essential to the job being evaluated. Experience: 1 +years if degreed. Five or more years technical experience needed if non-degreed. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including generating simple letters, spreadsheets and/or graphics for personal business use or creating simple queries and simply formatted data output using a fourth generation language. If using a Tyson Business Computer System, job requires an understanding of the system features and functionality and how to use these features. Travel: 6 to 11 domestic trips per year. Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities. Special Skills: Must know all processes involved in plant production in order to identify where potential hazards might exist; must have HACCP knowledge and training; ability to interpret statistical charts and data. Other Requirements: Must have excellent attendance and safety records. This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility, therefore, they will be considered first. If none of those local Team Members are selected then other Team Members from other locations will be given consideration. Position-Specific Requirements Must have 6 points or less for attendance. Scheluded hours of work will vary.
