Provide supervision, mentoring, coaching and general direction to the operating staff in a safe and efficient manner consistent with company policies, procedures and the station operating manual and technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

*Provide supervision, mentoring, coaching and general direction to the operating staff in a safe and efficient manner consistent with company policies, procedures and the station operating manual and technical specifications *Perform shift required employee relations functions in regard to employee development, contract interpretation and compliance, recognition and discipline. *Conduct annual and on-going performance evaluation and assessments. *Recommend and conduct corrective behavioral actions when required. *Determine daily and overtime manpower requirements necessary to maintain optimum plant performance, maintain employee absence and safety records. *Supervise the start-up, operations and shutdown of plant equipment in accordance with plant operation instructions and procedures. *Monitor shift operations by review of operating data, PI system, checklist, logs and other appropriate records. Identify equipment problems and their causes. *Prepare maintenance work requests as required to correct problems. *Ensure that the plant is running within design limits; in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulation, satisfy dispatch requirement as prescribed in approved operating plan. *Supervise the completion of routine maintenance and inspections. *Coordinate equipment outages for maintenance activities. *Ensure that hazardous materials and wastes are handled in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner. *Report plant upset conditions or other anomalies in plant status to management. *Document daily activities in the Supervisors log. Coordinate and supervise the use and effectiveness of the plant Lock-out/Tag-out system. Assist in the training of new operators, with respect to proper equipment operations and safety. *Conduct shift training and safety meetings. *Perform shift communication update meetings as required.

Qualifications:

*10-15 years of experience and high school degree or equivalent. *Requires a thorough knowledge of plant operations including start-up and shutdown procedures, emergency response procedures, equipment monitoring, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and environmental and safety requirements. *Basic computer skills and Drivers License required. *Potential work in high heat/cold atmosphere, ability to climb stairs/ ladders. *Shift Supervisor will be assigned to a rotating shift with weekend and holiday work as required by schedule, work load and plant conditions. * "On call" status will periodically be required. *Work is performed in an industrial site requiring protective clothing and equipment *This position is exposed to extreme hot and cold environments, loud noise and moving equipment on a regular basis.
