Under the general direction of a Registered Nurse, performs a variety of duties in the Operating Room area to assist the surgical team, including scrubbing, preparation and care of instruments, clean up of linen/equipment and instruments, assembling laser, drills, video equipment and the like, processing surgical instruments, emptying linen and waste bins, and transporting patients and equipment Requires a minimum of successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program with positive references from instructors if a new graduate. Military training with surgical scrub experience may be accepted. A minimum of six months to one-year surgical tech experience is preferred. Requires the ability to work a flexible/variable schedule and routine work assignments as coordinated by medical and/or nursing personnel.
Requires the ability to participate in stand-by call as assigned and the ability to respond to call-in according to department policy and procedures. NOTE: PT- 7-1:30 PM- Mon.-Fri. Stand-by Call required. Prior experience or graduate of an accreditted Surgical Tech program required.
