    We are currently seeking per diem Surgical Technician to join Talbert Surgical Associates, located in Huntington Beach. Responsible for working with the surgical team to insure that quality care is given to the patient. Works with team members in providing assistance to the Surgeon by being familiar with the surgical procedure, instruments, supplies and equipment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer. Assumes the responsibility of a Scrub Nurse. F unction as the Sterile Assistant to the Surgeon. Assist in the assessment, planning and implementation of care given to the surgical patient. D emonstrates ability to use supplies, equipment and instruments appropriately. Follow strict principles of aseptic technique both in procedures and in processing of equipment and instrumentation. Demonstrate competence in assisting with surgical procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, regulatory agency requirements, quality improvement process, facility and departmental policies, procedures and protocols. Demonstrate knowledge of Universal Body Precautions. Participate in the identification and implementation of improvements in the delivery of quality care. Respond expediently and courteously to requests for help from patients and staff. U se judgment in seeking consultation from circulating Nurse and other unit Nursing staff. Maintain composure and initiates emergency care as appropriate according to ACLS guidelines. Work with team members in the selection of supplies, instrumentation and equipment needed for patient care. W ork with team members in the processing of sterile supplies, instruments and equipment and their replacement to proper areas. A ssist Anesthesia staff as requested. Use, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualified candidates will have 1 to 2 years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college, Surgical Technician certificate from recognized vocational school, BLS card, minumum 1-3 years experience in surgery center including GI specialty background. Computer literate. Manual dexterity to use/handle equipment and instruments. Broad knowledge of surgical patient care. Ability to mathematically calculate for drug therapy. Strong prioritization skills.
