The Infrastructure Division of ARCADIS is seeking to hire a Survey Technician to join our team in Cleveland or Akron Ohio.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Field Survey activities including equipment set up, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, drainage surveys, centerline surveys, and downloading collected data.

2. Survey research to determine existing control, documentation, etc.

3. Courthouse research to collect right of way property information (deeds, tax maps, etc).

4. Base map development including collecting and downloading survey points, utility data, etc.

5. Develop deed descriptions.

6. Designer activities including assist in the development of right of way plans, roadway plans, and quantity calculations.

7. CADD activities include assisting in plan preparation tasks using AutoCAD and / or Microstation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum years of experience: 0-2
  • Education required: HS Diploma
  • Registrations/Certifications required: None
  • Skills required: Experienced with developing base mapping and performing drafting in multiple formats including AutoCAD and Microstation. Previous work on a survey team performing roadway, bridge and other surveys. Able to use robotic and traditional survey equipment. Able to work independently as a lone field worker or as part of a survey crew. Attentive to survey detail needs, company Health and Safety Programs, and trusted with Company resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education preferred: 2 year Associates degree or Technical certification - Surveying
  • Registrations/Certifications preferred: SI
  • Years experience preferred: 2-4
  • Skills preferred: Familiar and experienced with performing boundary surveys, using ODOT survey codes, and GPS equipment. Experience in developing right of way plans, roadway plans, for ODOT and other municipal clients, experience working on Class I Railroad property a plus.
  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is approx. 20%.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does not manage others.
