Enphase Energy is seeking a Sustaining Hardware Engineer with experience in the troubleshooting, testing and design of analog and digital systems to support Enphase’s state of the art Solar Microinverters in production today. The ideal candidate should be an experienced analog or power engineer wanting to apply his or her engineering skills to support high performance circuits for a broad range of applications.
The Sustaining Hardware Engineer will be part of a team whose primary responsibility will be testing and analyzing field and production failures that are too complex for the RMA or Mfg teams to diagnose. The Sustaining team will also be responsible for testing alternate suppliers for components on shipping designs in an effort to reduce costs or improve performance. The sustaining team members will also have the opportunity to participate in the design and qualification of new products.
Typical duties include; developing test plans, component qualification criteria, designing circuits, schematic capture, simulation, and most importantly, validating the design in the lab, under environmental stress and in the field. You will interact with cross-functional teams such as; PCB Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Product Verification teams, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
Support of existing microinverter designs both in production and in the field
Troubleshoot complex field failures and production failures
Qualify alternate sources for parts on the AVL to reduce costs or maintain supply availability
Redesign circuitry to support EOL components or to improve performance
Design, Document, and Validate designs
Work with compliance groups to ensure successful completion of certification process
Write Test Plans, Validation Reports and Engineering Requirements
Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Experience with test development, circuit validation, and debug
Extensive experience with Analog Circuit design and simulation
Experience with OP-AMPs, PLLs, analog filters, ADCs, DACs, Power Amplifiers, Voltage Regulators
Knowledge of EMI; debug, contributors and avoidance
Experience with full product development cycle with multiple products
Able to simulate the design using tools such as Spice, MATLAB, or equivalent
Good communication skills both verbally and written
Quantifiable experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and constraint management
Experience with power supplies, inverters, or the solar industry is a definite plus
BSEE or MSEE
