This person will be responsible for managing installation, configuration and maintenance of Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including Web servers in support of business processing requirements, the execution of on-site, on the floor, technical and system administration support. The candidate must possess strong Windows and UNIX system administration skills along with the ability to navigate through the trouble reporting and tracking system known as REMEDY. Performs software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance.
Specially perform the day-to-day system administration tasks to include:
Installation of new customer software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches and resolution of software related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products on Sun UNIX, SGI IRIX and Windows 2008 / XP platforms, and VM WARE.
General trouble-shooting on the customer workstations, creates user accounts, maintains data files, and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Duties also include performing hardware maintenance and repairs with vendors.
Participate in hardware/software testing as required, interfaces with development/integration facility during discrepancy reporting process and assists in site CM.
Perform system backups and recovery, provides general trouble-shooting on the customer system, maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
Participate in analyzing new hardware/software needs and participates in customer TEMs, reviews and meetings pertaining to customer issues.
Support Regional Services leadership with administrative tasks, status meetings, data calls, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar degree or equivalent experience.

Bachelor Degree and 6-8 years relevant work experience or equivalent relevant work experience Candidate must understand, VM WARE, NFS, Windows Active Directory as well as monitoring all system processes, ability to script in Unix/Windows/Linux and modify scripts as necessary for automation and configuration management. Must have general knowledge of network administration and possess network configuration management skills. Candidate must understand HSM and robotic storage systems also have a good understanding of the tiered San Storage system, NETAPPS familiarity is a plus Candidate must have UNIX and Windows system administration experience with a minimum of five years experience in a related technical field Candidate should be familiar with the Customer's processes and procedures and have knowledge of the Customer's production systems Database and operating systems experience with one or more of the following: IRIX, Informix, SQL, Sybase, Oracle, and Imagery Production Chain Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential Adaptable to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong interpersonal, written, customer service and oral communication skills Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies Requires lifting or moving various pieces of computer equipment, maximum 40 lbs Candidate must have ability to work shift work, and respond to after hour calls Security+ Preferred Skills:
