:

Provides “Tier 2”
direct user desktop support to system users to include installing, modifying,
upgrading and making minor repairs to personal computer hardware, software
systems, local storage network printers and other office equipment. Providing
How to use guidance to end users on hardware and software, and escalate issues
when not able to resolve.

Essential

Duties

and

Responsibilities:

Administer all support requests using the BIA Incident tracking
system by receiving system generated requests or creating new requests for all
informally received requests to insure we have accurate work management
information. Produce clear accounting of incident resolution steps within
incident ticketing.

·

Closely interact with Help Desk Call Center (Tier 1 support) by
taking trouble reports, recording incidents in the incident tracking system,
documenting steps taken during Tier 2 efforts, and if efficient, utilizing
remote desktop control software and techniques.

·

Respond using the prescribed prioritized response guidance to
customer trouble tickets; common trouble tickets include, but are not limited
to resetting email passwords, adding user to network printer; assist user in
mapping to a shared network drive, install failed hard drive, image spare hard
drives, configure Citrix applications, assist user in logging onto domain
account.

·

Install computers for new employees and train new user on email
system.

·

Maintain a high level of customer service by accepting and
resolving complaints, managing customer follow up and contacts, and providing
proactive updates to customers.

·

Move computers as part of inter/interoffice moves as required or
requested.

·

Apply BIA provided device images to new and rebuild efforts.

·

Assist users in replacing plotter/printer ink and toner
cartridges.

Maintain network attached printer, plotter, scanner, and copier
troubleshooting.

·

Assist users in setting up LCD projectors as needed or requested
for office presentations.

·

Provide support for network hardware, such as switches and hubs.

·

Assign network (TCP/IP) addresses to servers.

Connect network cables and manage UPS devices to
servers

Other duties
may be assigned to meet business needs.

Supervisory

Responsibilities

:

This
position has no supervisory responsibilities though it may occur in remote
locations where self-management of time, work quality, and process alignments
with centralized entities such as Data Operations Center and Help Desk is
essential.

Performance statistics will
be monitored and prescribed by the federal management.

Minimum

Qualifications

: (

job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.)

Must have the ability to
pass a background investigation (NAC and NACI).

Associates degree and minimum of 4 years of experience performing
desktop duties; or high school diploma, military/technical school
accreditation, and/or on the job training with 6 years’ experience in the
field.

Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, and remaining current with
future Windows releases.

Certificates,

Licenses, Registrations:
A+,
Security +, Network+ preferred, MCDST

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge
of current network hardware, protocols and standards and strong technical
knowledge of telecommunications, networks and PC operating systems

Strong customer service
and team skills proven customer interaction and customer support
experience

Must be able to troubleshoot, remove, and replace internal desktop
computer components such as hard drives, video cards, RAM, etc.

Must be able to install and troubleshoot external peripherals such
as printers, keyboards, scanners, etc; and the ability to remove, replace,
or install network switches, servers, and NAS devices.

Excellent customer service
skills with the ability to multi-task

Must have the ability to rely
on experience and ongoing curiosity to keep pace with technology change
sufficient to correct deficiencies

Must have good communication
skills

Must be proficient in the
use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Power
Point, Excel and Access, and desire to participate fully in work load
tracking tool use.
