This position is responsible for configuring, maintaining and supporting a virtualized/physical Windows Server environment and Cisco network infrastructure and works under the immediate supervision of the Sr. Systems Administrator.
Essential Job Functions: Responsibilities include(but are not limited to):
Manage the design, deployment, monitoring, optimization, maintenance, upgrade and support of the local and wide area network (LAN/WAN), network devices (routers, switches, LAN controllers), remote access (VPN), internet connectivity, firewalls and other networking hardware or software.
Participate in the design, deployment, monitoring, optimization, maintenance, upgrade and support of the physical and virtual Windows server environment and enterprise data storage infrastructure.
Participate in the administration of Commvault backup and recovery software; perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
Performs varied tasks to support key applications, middleware systems and databases.
Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for hardware and software related problems.
Recommends and implements LAN policies and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures.
Updates software, operating systems, security patches for servers and computers running Windows server operating systems.
Manage SaaS solutions across the organization, such as Google Apps.
Provides 3rd level support and problem resolution for workstation environment.
Practice asset management for hardware, software and equipment.
Act as a member of a ticket queque system to address and resolve day to day support requests.
Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.
Education and Experience:
Related associates degree and a minimum of three years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
Qualified candidates must possess a Cisco certification (CCNA, CCDA, or CCNP)
This position requires the ability to be on-call for special projects or after hours support.
Preferences include:
5+ years of recent hands-on Cisco networking administration experience
3+ years of system administration experience on MS Windows platforms
Experience managing and configuring Active Directory
Current MCSE or MCITP
Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco witch/firewall technologies, Experience with hardware and peripheral installation and maintenance, highly self motivated, directed with keen attention to detail, and extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Selected applicant must pass an extensive criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive experience with Cisco switch/firewall technologies, along with a strong understanding of current network principles, protocols and standards.
Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft operating systems.
Strong technical knowledge of VMWareESX/ESXi and Virtual Center.
Strong knowledge of IP networks and principals.
Solid understanding of SAN management and configuration.
Good understanding of MS Windows architecture and system level resources.
Experience in automation and scripting.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
