Providing tier servicing of support center requests via phone and email
Day to day hardware (server and storage) and software support of the Windows/Intel and environment including break/fix, performance troubleshooting, and supporting application troubleshooting.
Performing systems administration of servers and enterprise software
File system management
Bug fix diagnosis and reporting
Backup/and recovery (setup, testing, implementation)
Server security/Information Assurance management
Install new software, utilities, and monitoring tools as required. Resolve system problems; apply patch releases and security enhancements as required
Systems monitoring, systems diagnosis, systems configuration, and performance tuning to optimize effectiveness of memory utilization, disk management and OS kernel tuning to maximize CPU efficiency
A minimum of 2-4 years of related hands-on technical experience in Windows 2003. (College degree or technical certification a plus)
Experience providing technical support to system users via phone and email
Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, administering and maintaining Windows 2003/2008 servers in a large environment.
Demonstrated experience with Windows, disk file systems, data communications, and TCP/IP.
Working experience administrating and implementing Windows 2008 Active Directory Infrastructure.
Knowledge of network systems and network security
Knowledge of VM Ware Enviroment
OS and network software configuration include management, backup, and disk utilities
Knowledge of the following enterprise applications: MS Active Directory, Symantec
User Account maintenance – defining/removing/testing accounts, password resets.
Security - basic O/S lines of defense, password issues, group policies/issues (e.g. rights inheritance), registry troubleshooting; system policy editor;
Understanding operating system internals such as process resources, memory management, error logs
Working knowledge and experience with the following protocols: SMTP, POP, DNS, HTTP, FTP. Demonstrated skills to troubleshoot and resolve networking issues.
Skills to determine the effect of program modifications/enhancements on multiple or integrated systems. Ability to evaluate new and emerging technology to advise and effect migration or transition of administrative systems from old to new software and hardware platforms
