Position Summary

TexelTek is seeking a highly motivated System Architect to join the System Integration Architect (SIA) team that has demonstrated the ability to apply Hadoop solutions to big data problems. As a System Architect you will design and configure major components of the Hadoop distributed computing platform and investigate, prototype, propose and develop next generation technology options for distributed computing. For this position the candidate must have a solid understanding of cloud based system architecture and a broad set of technology skills across many platforms and environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge of Hadoop/HDFS and Distributed Cloud Computing Architecture (DCCA) is key.

Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain multiple Hadoop cluster infrastructures from development to production.

Manage, monitor and scale cloud infrastructures using Puppet, Ganglia, Nagios and other open sources tools.

Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes.

Experience maintaining services such as SSH, SFTP, HTTPS, Apache, MySQL, Tomcat.

A comprehensive knowledge of COTS, GOTS, GOSS and FOSS integrated solutions.

Thorough hands on experience RHEL administration and configuration.

Experience in integrating systems into multiple inherited environments.

Hands on knowledge of Ruby, Python or other scripting languages.

Keen understanding in optimizing, monitoring and deploying applications within a distributed cloud environment.

Familiarity with version control software such as Git or Subversion.

Capability of troubleshooting multiple systems.

Must be able to work independently as well as in a teaming environment.

Strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Engineer.

6 years of experience as a System Architect.

5 years of recent experience in system engineering, system administration, and integration supporting cloud stack components.

DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II

Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
