Duties and Responsibilities:
We are currently looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support a 20+ member, multi-disciplined team supporting a component of the Department of Homeland Security with software development support for both Operations and Maintenance activities as well as new software development projects. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assist client in transformation to effective service-oriented architectures and distributed system architectures. Gain an understanding of overall DHS transformational efforts, programs, and initiatives
Assess architectural attributes, such as service provider reliability, redundancy, availability, and survivability.
Manage, communicate, and contribute to engineering trade-off analysis and feasibility studies, proof-of-concept prototypes to explore technical implementation options and issues, engineering reviews, technical design and implementation in support of the DHS transformation efforts.
Contribute to program management, policies, and direction for distributed business and system architectures and processes in a service-oriented environment.
Perform research and technical analysis as required such as technical feasibility of proposals, technical assessments, and assessments of business and operational process

Minimum Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship required. The individual considered for this position must have strong skills in all areas of network engineering. Ability to prioritize and solid communication and writing skills are a must.

Experience with systems/software engineering practices, including integration of business and technical needs, systems approaches, life cycle development methodologies, structured development processes.
Experience with Microsoft Server Technologies, including virtualization such as HyperV amd/or VMWare
Proven IT security background
Experience delivering solutions through the IT lifecycle from gathering and balancing business requirements through delivering a solution that provides measurable value, is operable, maintainable, and replaceable
Have in-depth multi-disciplined knowledge of Network, Storage, and Computer technologies and how they are evolving. Should be knowledgeable about future IT trends in multiple areas such as security, network, and system virtualization, WAN routing, datacenter ecosystem, disaster recovery, SAN, and wireless networking.
Ability to assist in conducting engineering analysis and studies of activities impacting a transition to an effective service-oriented architecture and distributed system for delivering managed services solutions.
Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions to engineering problems to senior leadership
Ability to focus and manage technical resources on solving evolving complex customer engineering problems.
Familiarity with a broad range of technologies and services, e.g., financial systems, service-oriented architectures, network-oriented components, architecture frameworks, COTS-based offerings, standards, and integration and evolution strategies and options.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and solve problems analytically
Ability to interface with customer and represent VIP.
Federal Government experience a plus
ITIL Foundations Certification preferred
Minimum of CISSP certification
PMP certification

Education:
Bachelor begree

Clearance:
Ability to pass DHS Background Investigation, Citizenship required
