The system sustaining group is responsible to ensure Illumina hardware, consumables and workflows consistently meet and exceed customer needs and expectations. Responsibilities include design and assembly of fluidic or chemistry tests aimed at either determining root cause for a specific issue or validation of design changes. Daily operation of test equipment including rotary valves, pumps, controllers and various other fluidics components is involved. Additional responsibilities include collection, interpretation and presentation of data from test setup.

- Students must be a junior in a Bachelors program or above in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or chemistry.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2
- Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Some experience with electro-mechanical systems, sequencing or array instruments is required.
- Programming experience a plus – R-Scripts, VBA or Hadoop
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
