We are currently hiring a Systems Developer to join our growing team at our headquarters in Houston, TX. The Web Developer at Mattress Firm will be involved with day-to-day responsibilities that include meeting the needs of internal users such as extending functionality of legacy applications, developing new solutions to replace legacy applications, and updating content of existing websites.
What you’ll be doing…
•Participate in the initiation, requirements, design, testing, and conversion/implementation phases of a project to develop, modify, or implement effective information systems solutions.
•Conduct comprehensive customer interviews to research, analyze, and produce accurate and thorough project documentation and deliverables (e.g., functional and system requirements, project schedules and communications, process and screen flow diagrams, graphical user interface and/or report designs, testing documentation, training materials, etc.).
•Will be responsible for full software life-cycle participation on smaller scope projects or multiple phases of the life cycle on larger, more complex projects.
•May coordinate the work output of other programmer analysts or programmers for special data processing projects of limited duration.
•Debugs and troubleshoots defects, issues and other problems identified in test regions and the production region, as needed, developing software solutions and participating in coordinating software testing and re-migration as needed.
•Performs emergency maintenance on applications and programs as required.
•Trains users in the use of new and revised applications
•Maintains applications by evaluating and revising them as required.
Experience and systems knowledge we’d like to see…
•Must have at least 4+ years of hands-on C# development.
•Experience in using Windows 2003/2008 servers, having general concepts on Windows user security control.
•Experienced with C#/ASP.Net 2.0, AJAX, Web Service, and XML.
•Experience in Software life-cycle development, designing and building multi-tier applications, component controls, Web Service. WPF/Silverlight experience is a plus.
•Understanding of Object Oriented analysis and design
•Visual Studio.Net 2005/2008.
•Extensive knowledge of TFS (must)
•Experience with relational database design and SQL scripting programming (e.g. stored procedures, user-defined functions, tables, index, views, triggers, etc.) using SQL Server (version 2005 preferred), or Oracle.
•1-2 years SQL Reporting, Cognos or Crystal Reports
•X++ (MS Dynamics AX 2012) is not required but it is a plus
•Microsoft Developer Certification (MCSD/MCAD) is not required, but it is a plus.
•WCF and/or WPF (not required but it is a plus)
